The third generation M3, considered by many to be one of the best M series cars ever produced, was finally released to BMW enthusiasts in 2000, three years after the E46 was launched. Following its predecessor, the E36, the E46 had a more powerful engine, sleeker lines, and more advanced technology, making it one of the best M3s to date. This car hails from March 2004; the latter half of the E46 M3's 2000 to 2006 production life.

The car was supplied to its first lucky owner by dealers Scothall BMW of Leeds. The first owner is thought to have retained the M3 until around 2007, covering approximately 35,000 miles during her tenure. Second and third keepers followed before being acquired by the current keepers in April 2009.

This E46 M3 is now being offered for auction with approximately 77k miles showing on the odometer. The M3 can be distinguished from a standard E46 3-Series by its model-specific fascias, domed hood, front fender vents, side skirts, round aerodynamic mirrors, and quad exhaust tips.
