Bmw R18 Exhaust Baffle Removal

I just glanced at the exhausts, and I did it on my old R nineT, but can you remove the baffles from the R18B pipes? I don't want to lug my tool box down to the parkade unless I can lazy, I know. Mine came off without much effort the weld isn't very strong (or at least it wasn't on my exhaust) and turning the screw/bolt did the trick. That said, I reinstalled my baffle after a few weeks and haven't felt the need to remove it since. Has anyone removed their stock muffler baffles? I would like my 18B have a bit more sound but can't justify 1800 US dollars.

Crazy. Here's a pic of the end of my stock muffler. Looks like if I remove the muffler, and remove the baffle bolts, it would slide out? Anyone do this or what else.

I recently was chatting with some folks at the local BMW dealership and they showed me a recent project bike they did for customer that included the addition of the V&H pipes with baffles removed. Net net, simple project. Do you think this baffle mod needs the Brentune to run properly or will run fine without it (obviously it'll run better overall with Brentune - just trying to work out if it mess up the standard tune - am hoping the wide band O2 sensors can cope).
