I have a dilemma; the LCI 50e has the Drive Recorder (DR) as standard but it only saves a max 40 secs and the Eye 3.0 isn't the most advanced dash cam available (or the cheapest). Does the bmw advanced eye dash cam have an advantage over the drive recorder in terms of recording any unfortunate event. Does the advanced eye do continuous recording while on park? The Pre-LCI X5s with iDrive 7 isn't about to keep the whole electrical system ON so that the built-in Drive Recorder can do likewise when the driver's away.
