Apple Crumble with Oat & Pecan Topping
A comforting apple crumble with a delicious oat and pecan topping. Perfect for a cozy dessert.
Ingredients
- 600g Bramley apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 50g caster sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 50g plain flour
- 75g cold butter, cubed
- 50g rolled oats
- 50g pecan halves, roughly chopped
- 25g light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan/ Gas Mark 4).
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with the caster sugar and cinnamon. Transfer to a 20cm baking dish.
- To make the crumble topping, rub the flour and butter together in a bowl using your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the oats, pecans, and light brown sugar.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
- Drizzle the milk over the crumble topping.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with custard, cream or ice cream.
