Dunelm Made to Measure Curtains Cost: How Much Do They Really Cost?
Choose from a wide range of fabrics, patterns & colours in Dunelm's made to measure curtains range. Curtains made just for your windows....
Determining the cost of Dunelm made to measure curtains requires looking at several key factors, as the brand offers a flexible pricing model rather than a single fixed price. The final charge is calculated based on the specific dimensions of your window, the type of fabric you select, and the hardware you choose, making each quote unique. Unlike standard ready-made curtains, made to measure options are cut precisely to your specifications, which adds value but also influences the total price. Understanding these variables is the first step in budgeting accurately for your window dressing project.
Factors Influencing Dunelm Made to Measure Costs
The primary driver of the price is the window size itself, as fabric quantity directly correlates with cost. Dunelm calculates the price per panel based on the width and drop, ensuring you pay for the material you actually need. The complexity of the window is also considered; features like deep sills, intricate angles, or unusually high ceilings can increase the difficulty of measurement and production. Additionally, the chosen finish, such as a lined versus unlined curtain, will significantly alter the final cost due to the extra materials and labor involved.
Fabric Choice and Hardware Impact
Perhaps the most significant variable in pricing is the fabric selection, as Dunelm offers a wide range from budget-friendly options to premium materials. Heavier, thicker fabrics or specialized textures generally cost more than standard polyester blends due to the material cost and shipping weight. The hardware kit you select plays a crucial role as well; a basic plastic hook system is the most economical, while timber poles, metal chains, or motorization options increase the overall investment. These choices allow you to tailor the function and aesthetic to your specific needs, directly impacting the quote.
| Factor | Cost Impact | Example Options |
|---|---|---|
| Window Size | Direct correlation; larger windows cost more | Standard vs. bay window |
| Fabric Type | Varies significantly based on material and weight | Standard polyester vs. wool mix |
| Lining | Adds to material and labor cost | Blackout lining vs. plain lining |
| Hardware | Price varies by material and mechanism | Plastic hook vs. wooden pole |
Comparing Value and Quality
When evaluating the cost of Dunelm made to measure curtains, it is essential to compare them against the value offered. The brand is known for its quality assurance and reliable delivery, which means you are paying for a guaranteed fit and a product designed to last. Cheaper alternatives might seem attractive initially, but they often lack durability or light-blocking capabilities, leading to premature replacement. Investing in a precise, made-to-measure solution often provides better long-term value by eliminating the need for frequent updates.
To get the most accurate figure for your specific situation, you should utilize Dunelm's online curtain calculator tool. This tool allows you to input your exact window dimensions and select your preferred fabric and hardware to generate a personalized price. It removes the guesswork and provides a transparent breakdown of the cost, helping you make an informed decision without visiting a physical store. This digital approach ensures that the price you see is the price you will pay, with no hidden fees.
Maximizing Your Budget
If you are working with a strict budget, there are strategies to manage the cost of Dunelm made to measure curtains without sacrificing style. Choosing a standard fabric width and opting for simpler lining types can reduce the material expense significantly. Additionally, measuring your windows accurately according to Dunelm's guidelines ensures you do not accidentally order oversized dimensions, which would result in unnecessary charges. Taking advantage of seasonal sales or promotions can also make a high-quality window dressing more accessible.
