Bmw Z3 Quarter Panel Removal

here is how to remove rear quater panel. you need to remove the inner liner first or it will be impossible to achieve. You have to remove the sideskirt, for the sideskirt you have to remove the front side panel and the inside trim of the door opening (not sure how to call it).

Then you have to remove the trunk lid and at least loosen the rear bumper. You would cut the old quarter panel off at right about where you would put a pinstripe and all the way around, leaving 3/4" flange to bond the new QP to. Next you cut out the other Q panel from the other car right on the body lines leaving enough to have a 3/4" overlap.

You remove ALL paint undercoating etc from both panels where they will mate. Most expeditious way to remove and replace the rear quarter panel on a 2000 BMW Z3 roadster. Appears to be fairly straightforward. Just seeking some more experienced advice.

The window seal stays in place, the rear quarter slides out from underneath it. The most time consuming bit is removing boot trim to locate bolts holding the quarters. Can anyone advise me on how to remove the body panel beneath the shark grill that accomodates the side indicators? I have a new one to fit and not sure how to swap them over.
