Kitchen Island Decor Reddit

Tried a big olive wood tray/bowl, something like this and it didn't work in my interior. It could work in yours depending on other decor in the room and style, if it's leaning toward boho, natural, or farmhouse. Tried a big marble bowl, didn't work either, was too matching to a counter top disappearing on it.

Kitchen Island or No? Layout and Space Planning Hi all, I am really considering getting rid of my small rolling island cart (pictured) and getting a larger island that would also be able to have bar stool. I am really wanting the extra prep space in addition to having the seating, but I am worried it would make my kitchen too crowded. One of them is the kitchen island and I am wondering what are the pros and cons of having an island.

And what is the must-have and what to avoid. My initial thought, was that I wanted the stove and a small sink in there, and also to be big enough to have a bar in front of the stove. Hi everyone! I guess first of all if you're designing a custom kitchen, you make sure you know exactly how you use and the kitchen, know the things you love about your current kitchen and what you hate. Architect did rough design of kitchen space with an island that is 2'4" wide and 5"9" long. It's purpose would be extra counter space, breakfast bar seating and/or base cabinet space.

In my kitchen, I had to pivot to oversized milky glass pendants from the big brass one when we noticed that our kitchen overhead lighting is not very bright. Big milky glass gives light for the whole room not only the prep area on the counter. That's also something to consider.
