Terms & Conditions

By submitting a booking for any Retreat, I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Terms and conditions are in effect as soon as a booking request is received. These terms and conditions may be adjusted from time to time, and by booking a retreat you agree that you will read them to stay periodically updated and will agree to any updates or changes in these terms and conditions until the retreat commences. We are not responsible for typographical errors or omissions.
ALL QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO handcraftedretreats@gmail.com and NOT through the portal on wetravel.com. The wetravel.com portal is not monitored and your email will not be received.
HandCrafted Retreats is not a travel supplier and utilizes the services of a travel agency (Deb Roberts' Tours) to arrange retreat services only.
It is understood that Force Majeure shall apply to all bookings.
Deposits and payments are not refundable.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: Twin Room Bookings: Twin accommodations require two named guests at the time of booking. Single-name reservations cannot secure or hold a twin-bed room, and roommate placement or pending arrangements do not constitute a confirmed booking.
Once you have booked you will receive a confirmation note that your booking was received. We will contact you if there is an issue with your booking, otherwise you are confirmed. Other than a, \"We are a GO notice,\" we will not be sending out any notifications on the retreats until about two months prior to the retreat start date. The itinerary will be available about 30 days prior to the retreat start. If you have questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to assist you as we are able.
Please keep your email address updated in your wetravel.com account. We are not responsible for emails that are not received.
HandCrafted Retreats (Deborah J Roberts LLC or Antique Textiles Company, LLP) or the travel agent booking our retreat suppliers, Deb Roberts' Tours) have no special unpublished knowledge (in other words, something NOT publicly available to you) regarding the financial condition of any of the suppliers that have been hired (such as hotel or coach company ) or any unsafe conditions, health or safety hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel.
You agree you are voluntarily participating in this retreat and HandCrafted Retreats (Deborah J Roberts LLC, Deb Roberts Tours, Antique Textiles Company LLP), and as lawful consideration you agree not to make a claim against HandCrafted Retreats (Deborah J Roberts LLC, Deb Roberts Tours or Antique Textiles Company LLP),its related suppliers, companies, officers and employees for injuries, illness, death, delays, government shutdown, bank failure, financial calamity or disruption, or any other claim and agree to release HandCrafted Retreats (Deborah J Roberts LLC, Deb Roberts Tours and Antique Textiles Company LLP), its related suppliers, companies, officers and employees from any such claim. This release is binding on all members of your traveling party including those who you book on their behalf, as well as your/their Estate and heirs and this provision shall be enforceable even after your trip has ended.
You acknowledge that you have had the companions you have booked read these terms and conditions and agree that you and any companions accept these terms and that you and your companion are undertaking travel at your own risk. It is to be understand there will be a separate pre-travel release of liability contract to be signed and returned to Handcrafted Retreats before travel can commence, any failure to return the contract will cancel your booking without compensation.
You are undertaking travel at your own risk. Safety cannot be guaranteed, and you should always follow all CDC and WHO guidelines or the health and safety guidelines established by your country and consult with your medical professional to assess your own risk factors when deciding when and where to travel, and if it is right for you. We are not responsible for or to anyone wishing to defy the travel standards set forth by any government entity, the CDC and/or WHO and refunds will not be possible.
Other than the retreat itself, HandCrafted Retreats, Deb Roberts' Tours (Deborah J Roberts LLC) or Antique Textiles Company LLP is not responsible for any part of your flight purchase or any other travel related purchases at any time, even after the retreat is considered a go. Apart from the retreat you may purchase travel related services from any travel provider. We strongly suggest not purchasing flights until you know for a certainty your retreat will be a definite go. Even if announced as a \"GO\", things can happen, thus, travel protection that includes the cost of your flight is strongly recommended as in extordinary circumstances a retreat may cancel and your flight purchase is still your responsiblity.
Travel protection is strongly encouraged and you may purchase it from any travel insurance provider. Please note* we are not responsible for your travel insurance choice even if you select an insurer we recommend. Travel claims may take from 6 months and longer to process, we cannot be responsible for the length of time a claim takes to process and receive payment. The settling of a claim is between the insurer and the insured, including the timeleness of reimbursing a claim. The insurer's decisions are final. Any guarantee applies to legitimate claims up to the amount of original coverage. Cover for any reason insurance is for 75% of the total insured cost. All claim decisions are final. Claims and transactions are between you and the insurer. Travel protection that includes medical coverage is also strongly recommended as many personal healthcare plans do not cover international travel (check with your provider). If you desire to purchase it from the link provided during the booking process, you will find a link to the insurance provider on your welcome letter. Unless offered with your retreat package, purchasing travel protection is YOUR responsiblity - again, it will not be purchased on your behalf. The company we use is Travel Insured, they will not allow us to sell in NY or outside of the USA. If you live out of the USA or in NY you may purchase travel protection from any reputable company. (We suggest travelinsured.com or travelguard.com, but any travel insurance company will do.) While we suggest these companies, we do not endorse or guarantee any purchase from them or any other travel protection provider. You need to be certain to understand what is covered and what is not covered when you purchase a policy. (Any questions about what travel insurance does or does not cover should be addressed directly to the travel insurance company, we are not responsible for misunderstandings and cannot legally give advice regarding travel protection and coverage.) If you decline insurance coverage or say you will purchase from another source, and do not, you personally assume full responsibility for any financial loss associated with your travel arrangements and acknowledge you could lose your travel investment and/or have to pay more to correct the situation.
Insurance premiums that have been paid may not be refundable.
For your safety, due to unforeseen circumstances such as a terrorist events, natural disasters, nuclear reactor contamination, acts of war, civil unrest, travel bulletins or alerts, government prohibitions or regulations, epidemic or pandemic, the possibility exists that at anytime a retreat may be postponed and rescheduled at the discretion of Handcrafted Retreats, even once it has been confirmed as a go. (Travel protection is strongly encouraged.) Should this happen, unless payment deadline and retreat cancellation deadline dates are altered in writing by HandCrafted Retreats the original dates for deadlines and cancellation penalties remain in effect. Should a retreat be rescheduled, it is not considered to have been canceled. Updated registrations may be needed if requested, please do this in a timely manner so that you do not lose your space. Once you have selected from available options your booking will remain within the context of the rescheduled retreat dates but have the original retreat deadlines.
Due to unforeseen circumstances dates, itineraries, accommodations, teachers and projects may change without prior notice. This does not negate your obligation to the retreat.
It is imperative that you make a booking request for yourself and your companion only, or only for yourself if going as a single. Unless married, it is strongly suggested that roommate/companion make their own separate booking. If you are also booking for a roommate or spouse you must indicate and by doing so acknowledge that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions and you have their permission to agree to these terms and conditions on their behalf.
Pricing: IF the price of a retreat is based on USD, currency exchange rates are stated on your booking contract and are subject to change if the currency exchange rate changes by more than +1% at any time before or after the final payment has been made. The currency exchange rate when the retreat was originally priced will be on your booking contract for your reference.
You may pay for the retreat in your own currency.
We reserve the right to alter the price of a retreat should warranted conditions exist that are outside of our control, such as a supplier increase in price. Your booking of this retreat indicates you understand and will agree to a price increase if so warranted due to a supplier cost increase.
Some retreats may involve train or coach travel included with the retreat package, it is imperative that you note you are responsible for transport and carrying of my own luggage in all instances. Coach companies allow 1 bag with wheels per person, and a carry on (without wheels) maximum.
You agree that you will check with your health care practitioner to determine whether you are fit to participate in the retreat you have selected. It is important to understand in some places, particularly in Europe and in Bali that pavement is often uneven, as are stairs and many times there are no stair rails and that some places are not accessible to wheelchairs and walkers and that elevators may not be available to you. Due to liability issues physical or health care assistance cannot be provided to you by the retreat staff or providers at any time. Should you require help or assistance for any reason or assistance with mobility or illness you should bring someone to help you, as once again, we are not allowed to assist. In booking the retreat you agree and acknowledge that at times retreats are held at facilities that will not have elevators and will have necessary stair climbing. One should consider their independent mobility including the ability to safely navigate stairs and uneven pavement prior to booking any retreat.
If there is ANY medical condition that exists or there is ANY question regarding your ability to participate in a safe and healthy manner in our schedule of activities, please consult your physician before registering for the trip and provide a letter from them to us that they believe you may safely travel. Failure to comply on request may result in refusal to accommodate you on the trip and all penalties will apply. Deb Roberts' Tours will not be responsible for any expenses incurred in this situation.
Should you become ill during travels, you will need to seek medical assistance and care from a licensed health care provider, not our staff. Our staff is not qualified to render medical care or opinions at any time.
Please inform us before you book about the need for mobility assistance devices during your retreat, as they cannot always be accommodated. We do not provide accessiblity assistance of any kind. If you require assistance, please bring someone with you.
Should you book a retreat after the cancelation deadline, non-refundable payments will immediately be made on your behalf, thus, it is not possible to get a refund once you have booked. Travel protection is strongly recommended.
The payment system (wetravel.com) used by our booking engine will allow you to pay with electronic bank transfer or by credit card in your own currency. All terms and conditions of the booking system are in effect. Should your final payment be more than five days late and you have not made other arrangements, your participation in the retreat will be canceled without refund.
If we cancel a retreat, a refund will be given per your request if your payments are up to date. Otherwise the following terms are in order.
If a retreat is canceled by the organizer, you will receive a refund of your full payment or your choice to transfer or receive a voucher that will include a discount to put toward a later retreat. Voucher funds that are not used to book another retreat or trip within 365 days of canceled trip will be forfeited. The trip may be completed at any time after.
At no time will any voucher or refund be greater than the amount of the booking charges you made for a retreat and it is understood that should you be refunded by an insurance carrier after filing a claim, the amount of any refund will be deducted from the amount paid to HandCrafted Retreats. Any other travel related purchases you make independently, such as airfare, additional hotel nights, land transportation, tour packages, etc., are your own responsibility and at your own risk and you agree you will not attempt to collect on these charges from HandCrafted Retreats, Deb Roberts' Tours ( Deborah J Roberts LLC) or Antique Textiles Company LLP at any time. Travel protection covering all travel services is encouraged.
Refunds: Some retreats are not refundable at any time. This information will be on your booking agreement when you make a reservation. Once your final payment deadline has passed, refunds are not possible. We are not able to offer refunds on unused portions of any itinerary. We are not responsible for changes in currency rates or fees. Any refunds are made in the same manner as received. Once a refund has been made (funds have been released) all obligations end. Refunds or price adjustments for any reason must be requested in writing. Vouchers or credits applied toward another trip are not refundable and have no cash value.
Cancellation requests must be made in writing with a signature, a scanned note attached to an email is fine to handcraftedretreats@gmail.com. The cancellation date is the date the signature included email is opened in our office. Please be aware that once any travel protection has been purchased it may not be refundable. Once you have requested to cancel a retreat it is canceled, it cannot be reinstated.
Payments: You will receive an invoice approximately 7 days before a payment is due, a reminder will be sent 4 times prior to the deadline. If payments are more than 5 days late, you are in full penalty and your booking is subject to being cancelled without refund and/or a 5% penalty due within 24 hours.
A detailed itinerary and travel information will be provided approximately 30 days prior to a retreat start date.
Once a retreat is confirmed as a \"GO\" each person registered will be notified specifically that it is okay to purchase airline tickets. We strongly suggest that you do not purchase airline tickets or make related travel plans until you learn the retreat is a definite GO.
Due to any unforeseen changes that might occur, we will not accept responsibility for airline ticket purchases made at any time even when the retreat is considered a GO.
Passports, Visas and Immunizations: Up to date passports are required for all retreats and must still be valid for 6 months after the return of your travel. A VISA is required for all US or Canadian citizens entering the United Kingdom. If you are from another country, you are responsible for your country's UK entry rules and VISA program. US citizens may get a VISA online at GOV.UK. Please be certain your passport has a full 6 months from your date of return before it expires, it should also have at least 1 blank page. Visas - it is your responsibility to check with local governments to ascertain whether Visas are needed for your travel with us. Immunizations - please check with your health care practitioner, we are not medical professionals and ethically cannot recommend vaccines or immunizations.
Any additional fees incurred due to extra baggage, personal expenditures, optional meals, illness or medical assistance are at your expense.
We expect that our guests will act appropriately, honestly, responsibly and be kind to all others at all times. Should we feel that a guest is disruptive, distracting or disregarding these expectations they will be removed from the retreat onsite without refund.
At our discretion, we reserve the right to block bookings, refuse service to or cancel anyone at anytime for any reason, even after the retreat commences. Refunds for removal from a group for inappropriate behavior are not possible once the retreat begins.
Deb Roberts' Tours reserves the right to adjust the tour price at any time before travel commences as a result of any of the following: (1) trade fairs; (2) a greater than 1% change in the relevant currency rates; or (3) changes in government taxation or fuel surcharges with regard to trains or coaches (4) supplier fee changes. By booking this retreat you indicate your agreement to pay increased fees under such circumstances.

Your booking of any retreat indicates your understanding and agreement of all of the above.
