Deposit payments:
We regret that due to our limited 20 seats, reservations require an advanced deposit and this will be requested upon booking. Unfortunately, deposits are strictly non-refundable, but if canceled are fully changeable to another date or person 24 hours prior to your reservation. We regret no shows and reduced amount of guests, will be treated as late cancellations and the deposits are non-refundable.
Dietary:
The menu is carefuly curated and developed by Chef Ryan Clift and prepared in a small subterreanean kitchen.
We truly regret we are unable to accommodate guests with dairy, gluten, soy, egg, alliums, and gluten allergies, and are unable to accommodate a vegan and celiac menu.
Should you have any other dietary restrictions, please inform us at the point of your reservation. We regret that last minute requests may not be accommodated.
For pescatarian or non-seafood eaters, courses with these ingredients will be changed to the vegetarian menu.
The cave by Chef Ryan Clift is pork and lard free, however it is not a halal restaurant and alcohol is used in some dishes.
Late Arrivals:
Unfortunately Bali's traffic is bad, and to Uluwatu, an even bigger challenge. Guests are requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to reservations time and seating times start promptly. The cave experience is like theatre experience, guests start their lunch and dinner at fixed times due to the limited seating capacity, menu, and projector shows. Guests that are late will be escorted down into The cave based on the projector show. Unfortunately we do not accept guests later than 30 minutes. Please contact us if you need an estimated travel time from your location through WhatsApp on+6282144632077 or contact us by email.
Dress Code:
Although we appreciate we are in tropical Bali, our floor twinkles like stars and we ask to dress appropriately. Please no thongs, singlets or alcohol branded attire, bathers, beach slippers, ripped short or beachshorts. Formal shorts are permitted. Guests not adhering to the dress code will kindly be asked to wear a given sarong and given sandals.
Child Policy:
Considering the type of venue and experience, we recommend leaving the little ones at home. We do not accomodate babies and toddlers under the age of 4. We welcome children above the age of 4-12 years for our lunch with our special kids crafted lunch menus. During the dinner seatings we regret we do not allow children below the age of 12.
If your booking includes a child we kindly ask for your cooperation to create a pleasant dining experience for others.
Other fun stuff:
Menus are reinvented by Chef Ryan Clift every 4 months, and all are menus are subject to minor changes to ensure the highest quality ingredients.
For special occasions and holidays pricing, menu, and timing may vary.
There are 31 steps from the main door to the cave restaurant, and 11 steps from the main door to the restrooms. We regret the cave is not wheelchair accessible and completely underground so guests who are claustrophobic should consider this.
The cave by Chef Ryan Clift is a non-smoking and vape free restaurant. A smoking section is provided above ground.
The cave by Chef Ryan Clift reserves the right to refuse entry to heavily intoxicated guests and the right to ask heavily intoxicated guests to leave the premises.
The cave by Chef Ryan Clift does not allow non dining guests and does not allow food and beverage from outside.
