My journey has been anything but ordinary. Living with more than 11 disabilities, including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), extremely severe PTSD, and Autism, has given me a unique perspective on the world — and a strong desire to help make it better.
I created this business as a way to connect with the world through creativity, share my story, and turn some of the hardest experiences of my life into something meaningful.
My vision is for a world where children and people with disabilities are truly seen, heard, valued, and supported for who they are — where trauma-informed care replaces systems that can cause further harm, and where every person's identity, strengths, skills, and potential are recognised.
Through my art, advocacy, and community education, I hope to spark conversations, challenge the way we think about trauma and disability, and inspire positive change.
So, come along on this journey with us. Get to know a little about our story, explore our artwork, and perhaps take home a small piece of it.
When you support our work, you’re not just buying art — you’re helping turn lived experience into hope, connection, and change.
Together, we can help create a world that is a little more compassionate, inclusive, and understanding.
The Dissociative Thinker was born in 2020, during Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdowns.
At the time, I was studying a Bachelor of Psychology while navigating the profound isolation of lockdown. With the people I knew living only a few kilometres away — yet just outside my permitted 5km radius — the world around me suddenly felt incredibly small.
As the isolation took its toll, I found myself in one of the darkest periods of my life. Searching for a way to make sense of what I was experiencing, I turned to art. What began as a way to communicate the struggles I could not always put into words soon became a powerful form of self-expression, connection, and healing.
Through my art, I began to discover something I had never fully recognised in myself before. Despite the anxiety, pain, and dissociative symptoms I was experiencing, I started to see that perhaps I wasn't ordinary — and perhaps my art wasn't ordinary either.
I realised that what I could create was a gift.
Then, in 2021, another deeply traumatic experience changed my life and strengthened my resolve to share my work with the world. What had started as a personal outlet became something much bigger: a creative journey, a voice for lived experience, and a way to connect with others who may feel unseen or misunderstood.
And so, The Dissociative Thinker began — born from adversity, shaped by creativity, and driven by the belief that even our darkest experiences can become the beginning of something extraordinary.
