Bmw Downpipe No Tune

My friend gave me his VRSF catless downpipe for b58 cars. Can i put it on with no tune? i would tune it but my dme is locked and i dont have the extra cash right now to unlock it.
I know ill have a check engine light but will it make the car run worse or harm it? Seems there is no damage to engine in running a catless downpipe without a tune, and no performance benefit. Technical Sections Engine / Drivetrain / Exhaust / Bolt-ons / Tuning Downpipes no tune.

You can equip aftermarket downpipe without tuning - no problem. But it's recommended to tune because you can get more horsepower out of it and you can make sure the check engine light (CEL) doesn't turn on. Do I have to run a tune with catless down pipes? All times are GMT -5.
The time now is 04:58 AM. Is it bad to drive your BMW with catless downpipes and No tune and have a check engine light? The answer is No. The check engine light is just there by law because it has to notify you when there.
I just installed the Active Autowerk's catted downpipe on my 2021 M2 Comp and wanted to know if it's necessary to tune it as well. Is there a downside to not tuning?
