Assembly Instructions
1. Build the Base
Start by attaching the legs to the base using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. Position the legs 6" from the top and bottom edges, and 12" apart from each other. Allow the glue to dry while you work on the next steps.
2. Assemble the Leg Supports
Attach the leg supports to the inside of the legs using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. These supports will help reinforce the legs and provide a flat surface for the canvas brace.
3. Install the Canvas Brace
Position the canvas brace across the top of the leg supports, ensuring it is centered and level. Attach it using wood glue and 2-1/2" screws. This brace will support your canvas or painting surface.
4. Add the Shelf Supports
Attach the shelf supports to the inside of the legs, 12" from the bottom edge. These supports will hold the storage shelf for your art supplies.
5. Install the Shelf
Place the shelf on top of the shelf supports and secure it using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. Ensure the shelf is level and centered.
6. Sand and Finish
Sand the entire easel with 120-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges or surfaces. Apply stain or paint as desired to protect and finish your DIY tabletop easel.
