MCR to me were the first band that I found on my own that made the hairs on the back of my pre. MCR broke up back in 2013 after 12 years, breaking the collective heart of budding emos. MCR is part of (in my mind at least) the trifecta of pop-punk emo bands that shaped middle and high schoolers in the late 2000s and early 2010s, along with Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy.
I was very much a part of this group of kids.
