Note: GNOME Settings sometimes has an issue of it 'resetting' the accent colour when the Appearance page is open and the accent colour is changed externally. If this happens, navigate away from the Appearance page (or close the Settings window), and re-run the Auto Accent Colour script by clicking the 'Force Refresh. Accent colours are a headline feature in GNOME 47, although not new to Ubuntu users since Ubuntu added its own approach to accent colours back in 2022. Even though I don't have a solid answer, I do have a recommendation and it's called Auto Accent Colour. It's a free and open-source GNOME Shell extension that automatically changes the system accent color based on the current desktop wallpaper's colors.

To change the accent color, we take the Gnome Shell theme from this repository, modify the scss file to change the accent color, and then install the modified theme. Just choose one from the list, then Adwaita apps (may need a re-launch), Gnome top-bar, and menus' colors change automatically according to the color scheme. Since this was something some people have been requesting for a long time, I wanted to share with you the good news: there is a new extension that allows to change the accent colour of Gnome.

It colours consistently both the shell (Extension User Themes needed to change the theme in Tweaks) and all the other apps. Simple and easy to use. For me it works fine, but the usual disclaimers apply.
