I'm a service advisor at Toyota. Sales either lied to you for a sale, misled you for a sale, or didn't know what they were talking about in the first place. IMO, the Toyota care package is a waste of $$$.

Find a reputable independent shop and take your car there for service. Nothing a dealer is going to inspect that an independent can't, and for about half the cost. Dealers are also notorious at trying to convince you that more service is required when most isn't even necessary.

First off, you are not the first or last Toyota purchaser to buy the Toyota Care Plus maintenance plan and then want to cancel it due to cost/benefit concerns. Just search through the various Toyota related forums about this issue. I've passed the 25k mark on my '21 Limited and have the option of 2 more years & 20k mi (up to 4 yr/45k from purchase car date) of scheduled maintenance for $307.

Is this worth it? Service dept showed me the cost of each service individually and it seemed like it would produce a decent savings. My local dealer has this "Advantage Care" maintenance package, good deal? (3 oil changes, tire rotations, car washes for $130) 24 Hybrid Sport AWD, ~2500mi in. I didn't buy the package when I bought the car but the dealer said I can always add it on later, thinking about getting it now.

I believe Toyota comes with 2 years 25000 miles free maintenance. If so, that means you're only paying for additional 2 years / 20000 miles What this gets you: 30k - Oil change / Cabin Air Filter / Engine Air Filter, rotation 35k - Rotation 40k - Oil change, rotation 45k - Rotation So you're paying $373.19 for two oil changes and a set of filter. I think toyota care is standard, that's the 2 year maintenance plan and it's just 5k rotations and 10k oil change/rotations.

Toyota care plus is extra and covers the same maintenance but starts at 25 or 30k miles. If you use the dealer for these maintenance items then yeah, they're worth it. Most dealers do fit in or express appointments for these customers, too.

Taking my 2023 limited in for its first Toyotacare servicing at 5,500 miles at the dealership, and they're telling me they're only rotating the tires because that's the only prompt the car is alerting them to do. They say oil change isn't due til 10,000 miles. Shouldn't they, I don't know, do an inspection? Look at other fluids at least?
Q: What is AdvantageCARE? A: AdvantageCare is our established Service Program Package to make your life that much easier while keeping your wallet nice and happy. With our AdvantageCare program, you can purchase three oil changes and three tire rotations for only $169.95. This is a sure fire way to make sure your car continues running smooth and looking sharp without overpaying.
Q: Why Buy. One of the best places to buy an extended warranty is from the manufacturer that built your vehicle. Here's a close look at Toyota's extended warranty program.
