Assessing Moisture and Contamination
The primary enemy of flooring on concrete is moisture vapor transmission (MVR). Even if the slab looks dry, it might contain hidden humidity that will eventually warp or lift the planks. You should conduct a moisture test using either a calcium chloride test or a relative humidity (RH) probe deep into the concrete. Additionally, look for signs of oil stains, grease, curing compounds, or previous adhesives that could create a non-stick surface for the new flooring.

Required Surface Preparation
