The 2025 parade kicks off on Friday, Sept. 26, at 5:45 p.m. in downtown Iowa City.

Join us for the University of Iowa Homecoming Parade. You can walk or ride in the float. Line up will be at 4:30.

The University of Iowa Alumni Band in the 2024 UI Homecoming Parade. - Kate Revaux/Little Village Just as it has for more than a century, the University of Iowa Homecoming Parade wound its way through the streets of downtown Iowa City on Friday.

This being an Iowa City parade, local realtors were well represented among the groups marching, and almost all the groups in the parade distributed. The UI Homecoming game is scheduled for Sept. 27 against Indiana, with the parade taking place the day before.

The new school year has arrived. Welcome home, Hawks Homecoming week draws students, faculty, staff, future Hawkeyes, and alumni from across the world in celebration all things Iowa. The parade, construction of the Corn Monument, Pep Rally and Coronation, campus reunions, the Wave, and more bring Hawkeyes together each year.
