The Daily CAFE is a Professional Development website designed for teachers and literacy coaches using The Daily 5 and The Literacy CAFE Assessment System. It is loaded with professional video and downloads, all created for teachers like you! This is my own version of the Daily 5 CAFE reading assessment menu, complete with display components. In my version, children will help you to build your CAFE wall by adding components that are hand.
During Daily 5, students select from five authentic reading and writing choices, working independently toward personalised goals, while the teacher meets individual needs through whole-group and small-group instruction, as well as one. Daily 5 is a literacy framework that instills behaviors of independence, creates a classroom of highly engaged readers, writers, and learners, and provides teachers with the time and structure to meet diverse student needs. Because it holds no curricular content, it can be used to meet any school, district, state, or national standards.
