The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. The BMW F800R was a naked motorcycle manufactured by BMW in 2009, part of the F series that comprised various models with different engine displacements and similar appearances.

The F series is a model code used by BMW to categorize different generations of their vehicles. For example, if your BMW is labeled as a 3 Series, and the model number is something like 328i or 335i, the "F" series may be designated as F30 or F32, depending on the exact model and year. This vehicle line boasts a lot of unique features as the F30 models were the first one to be powered by an electric powered steering.
