Bmw K1200r Abs

I removed the ABS system of my 2005 K1200R including removing the hard lines etc. Replaced with the non ABS line on the front. You will have to remove the electronics from the ABS unit and connect back up to have your speedo working and you will have the red light on the dash.

In today's episode, i am removing the ABS / Anti lock brake system / servo actuated brakes / power assisted brakes or whatever you want to call it from a BMW k1200 motorcycle. After a recent failure of the brake module on my 2002 K1200LT, I decided to bypass the failed module. Thanks to many members on this forum, there is a lot of information about performing this bypass, but it seemed like it was scattered among many different threads and took a lot of research to.

On the earlier K1200RS with ABS II (non-servo) you must remove the rear wheel (no caliper removal required), the seat, plastic pannier mounts, both sidecovers, the battery & its stainless steel tray, the left hand passenger footpeg arrangement, the charcoal canister (if equipped - now where DID that thing get to when it's time to put it back on. Hopefully, I'll find a used ABS iii module and go back to ABS some day in the future. Love my K12RS and have no plans to get rid of it.

I think it's the high point of K-bike evolution but to be fair, I need to ride a K1300 for a week or two to really decide. BMW K1200R - ABS issues? Hey I heard the BMW k1200r has some issues with the ABS not working. Should I stay away from a used one? The one I'm buying is from 2005 and has 22.000km.

New metal brake lines installed by very experienced BMW mechanic last week. After a little over 500 miles ABS/brake light starts flashing during the ride. Still had solid brakes but perhaps not ABS.

Stopped and noted minimum brake fluid level in the front brake well under the seat. Topped off flu. My new neighbor has a '99 K1200RS with an ABS problem.

He suspects that the brakes weren't bled properly, and created a problem. He saw me working on my bikes in the garage, and came over to ask me if I could fix it or to recommend a BMW shop in the area that could fix the problem. I know next.
