Bmw K1200r Brake Failure Light

While in the smoky mountains my k1200r sport displayed a brake failure light and stays lit but after shutting the bike down and re cycling it goes off for a while then comes back on. i re. About 100 yards down the road,it happened! The dreaded brake warning lights came on,the red triangle stays on continuously,the "brake failure" flashing at 4htz,residual braking only.

The dreaded 'Brake Failure' light!Sounds like you'll have to carry a spare pair of underpants and all part of why BM ditched the system although not completely successfully because I also have my brake failure light on all the time the difference being that I rather like the end result and not sure if I want it fixed although the way Clarks are performing it wouldn't be any time soon. Does the 02 model have the electric servo brakes? Any type of failure there will leave you with only "residual" braking, which ain't much! As I recall, under the seat on my 03 K bike, there was a sticker that explained the meaning of the brake failure light modes. In your owners manual as well.

All scheduled bleeds done, due at 60Kkm, ~ March/21. Problem: Brake failure flashing message. Initial loss of rear brake only.

Front brake did eventually fail, over a short distance. Removed the rear sensor, cleaned and reinstalled. The cable had been loose from one of the keepers under the shaft.

Ignition on, bike started, failure message back to the normal slow flash. I have read several postings regarding flashing brake failure lights but have a unique issue with mine. My warning lights will begin flashing a couple of minutes after riding, but after I ride for a while and stop (shut off the bike) and clear the codes and then restart riding the warning lights will not come back on.

I am at a loss any guidance? My 2008 K1200GT with ABS has just over 7k miles on it (bought it used last year) and now the brake failure light, which flashes as normal at startup, is staying on constantly. I still have brakes but have read many threads that say this may be ABS module failure.

I can feel a difference in the. Before the warning light came on and stayed on while the brake failure light flashed fast. Intermittently the speedometer will show 20 -60 mph while squeezing the front lever.

Now, after toping off the rear reservoir, it was 1 mm below full, The warning light goes off and the brake failure light flashes fast and then slow and stays slow.
