Bmw K1200r Coolant Change

A video on how I removed the coolant and radiator to change the spark plugs on my very neglected BMW K1200R. I have a 91 K100RS, recently acquired and I want to do a coolant change. I was wondering if there are any shortcut methods that do not require complete removal of the fuel tank.

I have the Clymer manual, but seems like alot of stuff to take off just to get to the radiator fill cap. As I have mentioned earlier in this article, BMW installed a more efficient radiator in late 1992 on the K bikes, but using a wrong coolant can still 'plate' your cooling system, badly too, and result in easy over-heating in hot weather. I will get into coolant selection, and the WHY information, just below.

I have a 1998 K1200RS. What coolant should I use? I don't see any recommendations. Can I use regular antifreeze from the local parts place? Also, can anyone direct me to a walk-through for doing the job? One video I saw said you.

J owned a couple of K1200 bikes, and the "Experts" in I. Anyone have a full description of what it takes to replace the coolant in the new K motor? I bought a wrecked '05 K1200S and want to change out all the fluids, The bike was backed over in a parking lot, got tied up with lawyers for almost 2 years, and then went up for sale. I got it farily.
