Bmw K1200r Engine Number Location

Old thread, but for people who purchase a bike and need to provide the engine number in their state I will re. Then type in "site:forums.bmwmoa.org k1200r engine number". A number of thread links come up but click on the images feature and see if you spy the image your looing for.

Per BMW factory bulletin 2298, if your State or Country requires an engine number, you are to use the top line characters on the milled flat area on the engine case, located below and forward of the left cylinder. BMW K 1200R Location of VIN, engine Number and OBD connector. It is a VIN database stuffed with real images showing the place of your chassis number.

Come and check your vehicle free. The engine identification number in your BMW should be stamped or on a label attached to the vehicle's crankcase. The location of the crankcase identification stamp or label differs among engine models.

CA DMV requires a look at the Engine Number, which I have been unable to track down. Any one know where it is?:301. Hello Purchased an out of state 2007 K1200R.

CA requires inspecting the Engine #, but I havent been able to locate it. Any one know? OK I give up.

I have an 07 GT and I can't find the engine number. I have seen posts about it being on the right crankcase but I can't see it anywhere. Any ideas?

I have a 2008 K1200GT and need to find the engine number to register the bike. I have been told it is in the right side on the engine case but I can not seem to find it I do find some very small numbers that look like a date code near the top of the clutch basket.:scratch Can anyone tell.
