Bmw Yellow Grommet

How to clean the dreaded yellow grommet on bmw F10. I decided to replace it in due course and a part was ordered from BMW. The part number of the yellow grommet is 51719151866 "Yellow grommet steering cover" and was less than £30, a small price to pay to keep things dry.

Took the car to a local BMW indy garage and they fixed the leaked - yellow grommet being the culprit! They advised me to turn on the heater in the cabin and roll the windows down for a few days to try to get rid of the moisture which is a difficult regime to uphold when it has been raining nonstop for the past 3 weeks.
