I ride a lot of miles, 20,000+ a year and the valve checks were a PITA. The GS is a far better road bike and still good off road. Maintenance intervals are a little shorter, but far easier to do.

Overall I find the BMW to be higher quality, fit and finish. That's compared to the 2017 Africa Twin, I haven't ridden the newer models.
