Over time, mineral buildup from hard water, coffee oils, and grounds can accumulate within the machine, affecting its performance and potentially leading to unpleasant tastes or blockages. NOTE: The cleaning action of Keurig® Descaling Solution may result in a "foam" dispensed from the coffee maker. This is natural, as the solution is reacting with the scale inside.
For a coffee maker that is heavily scaled, the coffee maker may not fill properly after the descaler is added. If this occurs, you may see only a small or no output dispensed, followed by the sound of air. Remove and clean the water reservoir, drip tray, and pod holder with warm soapy water.
Fill With Descaling Solution: Fill the reservoir with Keurig Descaling Solution up to the maximum fill line. Start the Cycle: Turn on the machine and place a large mug on the drip tray. Cycle without a coffee pod.
Dispose of the liquid.
