We built A Reader to be a sanctuary for book lovers. This policy outlines our commitment to your privacy and explains how we handle technical data to provide our services.

✓ Absolute Privacy: We do NOT collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical locations.

      Recommendation Engine Transparency:

      To suggest books you might enjoy, the app uses a syncId derived from the device's Identifier for
      Vendor (IDFV). This allows us to personalize your experience locally while maintaining your anonymity.
    

1. No Personal Accounts

You can use all features of Book Reader without creating an account. We do not request or store personal contact information, meaning we cannot link your reading habits to your real-world identity.

2. Data Collection & Usage

In alignment with Apple's transparency requirements, we disclose the following data processing:

Device Identifiers: We use the IDFV to power the recommendation engine. While this is associated with your device instance to enable app functionality, it is not linked to any personal contact information.
Usage Data: We track book genres and reading activity locally and via our secure Java-based backend to improve your feed. This data is used solely for product personalization.

3. Data Security & Third Parties

All book downloads and reading progress are stored securely. Text processing and sanitization are performed on our secure servers to ensure high-quality book rendering; no personal data is extracted during this process.

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third-party data brokers or advertising networks. We do not engage in "Tracking" as defined by Apple.
