Pokemon Code Card Colors

They're supposed to, yes, because one is heavier than the other, to prevent weighing, since the lighter code card balances out with the heavier foil card. But because seemingly the quality control of packaging isn't the greatest, all it does is make the colors different.

The actual contents of the code card still matter most; the color is just a helpful, albeit sometimes unreliable, guide. The community is constantly analyzing these code card distributions and interpretations change over time, as the metagame evolves and certain cards become more or less desirable.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with the code card colours for the scarlet and violet products? It seems like I'm either getting all white code cards in one product (ex. booster box) and then i'm getting all black code cards in another (ex. etb).

The two different types of code cards (each with slightly different weights) were created to make weighing packs harder. There was actually some discussion about this back when the new code cards were released, but I can't find it right now. There's not really anything to discuss or.

Pokémon cards come in all different designs, styles, move sets, and artwork. If you don't know what you're looking at (or even if you do) you will probably notice the Pokémon card colors are different between them. There are quite a few different colors and they can vary pretty drastically based on the set that they belong to.

I always wonder why different colored code cards signify whether or not a pack has a "hit" in it (ex. black Vs white border in recent sets), it feels like it spoils the fun. I know you can open packs a certain way to not see the color of the card but sometimes code cards face different ways depending on the sets so it's easy to spoil.

A black lined code means that the pack will have a holo or higher and a white lined code means that you will get a regular rare. Of course because of the terrible quality control they seem to mess this up sometimes.

White code cards means holo rare or better (ultra, rare, full art, or secret rare). Pokemon's quality control has been pretty bad lately so i've seen packs with green codes have holos and vice versa.
