Painted Deer Rifle

I did this early last fall before deer season came in. I was tired of the plain, old, ugly gray of the composite stock on my Remington 710.270. So, I did a little research on what others were doing to their rifle stocks and what paint to use. I got some pictures of different camo patterns.

Here's my go-to stock paint. I've painted at least seven stocks with this stuff and it has worked flawlessly. Gives a good grip on those slick synthetic stocks too. I like the tan for blued steel and the dark gray for stainless rifles.

Deer have captivated artists for centuries, embodying beauty, grace, and a deep connection to nature. Their portrayal in art spans various cultures and styles, from realistic renderings to abstract interpretations. Whether depicted in serene forest settings or majestic landscapes, deer paintings often evoke a sense of tranquility and power.

Re: Reasons and drawbacks for painting a rifle? Different strokes for different folks. If done properly, it should enhance the value of the rifle. Also, IMHO, it breaks the monotony of a plain rifle. It takes guts to apply a $3 spray pain to a many thousand dollars rifle and scope. In the end, I think it looks nicer. Been thinking about doing the same for my guns.
