A chicken color genetics calculator is an invaluable tool for breeders, researchers, and educators alike. By simplifying complex genetic processes, it demystifies the exciting world of poultry genetics, ensuring that breeding outcomes are as predictable as nature allows.

I've developed two javascript calculators. The original basic calculator (below) doesn't calculate the product of probabilities, of all mutations selected (using the Product Rule). Where it says "Choose Color" in English, select from the list for a rooster and a hen. For practice choose a "Red" rooster and "Barred, Cuckoo" hen. Then hit "To Chicken Calculator" on the right. An second screen will open. Go down to where it says "Calculate Crossing" and hit that. You will see your results, a barred rooster and a black hen.

Effect: Linkage hacks: P-O (4cM) B-Id (14cM) Db-Pg (20cM) Ml-Pg (10cM) Db-Ml-Pg (10cM-10cM) no hack: Cp-r+ (0.4cM), K-S (1cM).

The genes Db, Ml and Pg are on the same chromosome and thus tend to stay together; choose this option to show the effect of strict linkage on a cross; In reality there is a small percentage of recombinants!
