After a couple of weeks I am not exactly sure If I mixed oil in it or not because I use 927 and it looks like gas. If you label your cans and use the same can for the same fuel type, gas, diesel, mix gas etc. You should have no need to pour something else into the fuel. This label system works great unless someone else who cannot read is filling and using your cans.
I would have to agree and say not to put food cloring in your fuel. If you want to know when your fuel level is getin low while you are runnin, you could make a "float" switch.

Ray, do you think adding ordinary food coloring to G05 would cause any problems as far as changes to the chemistry or damage to the cooling system? I've got the "can't see it in the tank" problem with my Chrysler and I've thought about adding food coloring but didn't want to cause any problems.
RC model fuels are generally dyed so you don't pour methanol into your car tank by accident. These dyes are known as solvent dyes, they are chemically different than food colorings. Leeward will not thank you if you use food coloring and it messes up a sensor or clogs an injector.
Yes, you can dye a gas. Is there a particular application you are trying to dye a gas for, or just wondering if there are ways to dye a gas? As u Depending on the gas, it might also be possible to dye it when it is a liquid with a traditional dye and then it could hold that color when it evaporates, depending on whether the dye bonds to the liquid or is dissolved in the liquid. UV tracers can.

Anyone know the type of dye I want to use to put in my fuel so I can distinguish premix from straight gas etc? The 2 stroke oil I'm using (mobil 1 synthetic) doesn't have any color to it so it's easy to forget if you've mixed. For all you to the letter people out there this question is also for my 4 stroke cause I don't want to indadvertantly dump 2 smoke gas in my 4stroke. Thanks.
