Superman Returns Color Grading

Superman movies look like this. People often think that a movie's look is dictated entirely by color grain but that's not the whole story. It actually starts way earlier with wardrobe and production design and Superman suit is a great example of this. The suit has an iconic three-color palette which is blue, red, and yellow.

Long story medium: While working on a Superman video mashup, I started playing around with different color grade/correction for footage from "Superman Returns". What I found was a preset (in Premiere Pro) that really blew me away. Along with boosting contrast and clarity (cutting the haze of the film's original color grade), it made Superman's costume POP while not greatly or garishly altering.

This is actually probably the best looking Superman movie as far as production design goes but it's totally ruined by the color grading. All of these shots look like they have a layer of brown haze over them.
