Surface Finishes: A Guide to Popular Options
There are several surface finishes to choose from, each with its unique characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. Here are some of the most popular surface finishes for patios:
- Broom Finish: A classic choice, the broom finish is achieved by using a broom to create a textured surface. It's a cost-effective option that's perfect for a rustic or country-inspired design.
- Hand-Troweled Finish: This finish involves using a trowel to apply a smooth, even layer of concrete. It's a popular choice for creating a sleek and modern look.
A stamped finish involves using a patterned stamp to create a design on the concrete surface. It's a great option for adding visual interest and texture to your patio. - Exposed Aggregate Finish: This finish involves exposing the aggregate particles in the concrete, creating a unique and textured surface. It's perfect for a modern or industrial-inspired design.
- Polished Finish: A polished finish involves using a series of progressively finer abrasives to create a high-gloss finish. It's a great option for a luxurious and sophisticated look.
