The trunks are different, but the 330e's trunk is likely the same as a 330i''s with the optional spare tire. The price of the 330e is only $1,000 more than the 330i and the $5000 tax credit makes it substantially cheaper. The 330e would work with my commuting and daily driving.

My only concern is going out for a fun weekend drive on the twisty back roads. I still like my E90 328i on the backroads. The hydraulic steering is still great.

The 330e's small gas tank (10.6 gallons vs. 15.6 gallons for the 330i) is an annoyance on road trips. The fuel economy (US EPA Combined City/Highway MPG) of the 330e without external charging is actually less than a 330i.
