Whilst i'm no css expert i have been fairly successful in modifying styles within the mermaid code itself (as opposed to userstyle.css) using classdef as a container for styles. Edges are numbered in the order they’re given in the source code, starting from zero. With the above, i can set my mermaid diagram using the classdef directive as per mermaid docs.
