BMW Australia is recalling more than 270 vehicles over fears a manufacturing defect could trigger a fire. The recall is for two models. BMW Australia has recalled 26,491 vehicles across its BMW, Mini, and Alpina brands, due to a defect which could result in reduced braking performance.

A total of 7168 vehicles are involved in the safety recall, including the BMW 520i and 740i sedans, along with three battery-electric models - i5, i7 and iX1 - as well as the X1, X5, X6, X7 and XM SUVs.
