Crafting a Triangle End Table: A Comprehensive Guide
Elevate your home decor with a unique and functional triangle end table. This geometric piece not only adds a modern touch but also saves space in small apartments or cozy living rooms. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you build your own triangle end table, no advanced woodworking skills required.
Gather Your Materials and Tools
Before you start, ensure you have all the necessary materials and tools. Here's a list to help you prepare:
- 1 sheet of 3/4" plywood (we used a 4' x 8' sheet)
- Wood glue
- 1-1/4" pocket hole screws
- 1-1/4" wood screws
- 2.5" wood screws
- Stainless steel or black iron pipe (3/4" diameter, 12" length)
- Stainless steel or black iron pipe fittings (3/4" elbow and tee)
- Wood filler
- Sandpaper (120-grit and 220-grit)
- Stain or paint (optional)
Tools
- Jigsaw
- Drill (with various bits, including pocket hole jig bit)
- Circular saw
- Clamps
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
Design and Cut Your Pieces
First, decide on the size of your end table. We chose a table that's 24" wide, 18" deep, and 24" tall. Using a jigsaw, cut your plywood according to the following dimensions:

| Piece | Dimensions (W x L x H) |
|---|---|
| Top | 24" x 18" x 1.5" |
| Sides (2) | 24" x 1.5" x 24" |
| Legs (4) | 1.5" x 1.5" x 24" |
Assemble the Table Frame
Start by attaching the legs to the sides using pocket hole joinery. Mark the center of each side piece, then measure and mark 1.5" from the bottom. Drill pocket holes at these marks. Apply wood glue to the legs, then attach them to the sides using 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
Next, attach the sides to the table top using 1-1/4" wood screws. Ensure the table is square by measuring diagonally from corner to corner. Adjust as needed until the diagonals are equal, then secure the sides to the top.
Create the Pipe Base
Cut the stainless steel or black iron pipe into the following lengths:

- 4 pieces at 12" for the legs
- 4 pieces at 3" for the supports
Assemble the pipe base using the elbow and tee fittings. Attach the pipe legs to the table frame using 2.5" wood screws.
Finishing Touches
Fill any holes or gaps with wood filler, then sand the entire table smooth with 120-grit sandpaper. Lightly sand again with 220-grit sandpaper for a smooth finish. Apply your chosen stain or paint, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Once the stain or paint is dry, your triangle end table is ready to be placed in your home. Enjoy the unique, handmade addition to your space!
