The Art House is a fantastic flexible space right in the city centre. It provides an open studio, workshop and exhibition space for our students and the community. The Art House forms a corner of the Worcester Creative Quarter, which is in progress The Hive and the Art House serve as cornerstones for a vibrant artist quarter, which includes bars, artists studios, agencies and exhibitions and events.

The Art House is an imaginative refurbishment of one of Worcester's most iconic buildings. Built on the site of the former City Gaol, the Castle Street building was first developed as Austin House, which was the car showroom and garage for Lord Austin's Austin Motors. After many decades as a showroom/garage it became the shop for home interiors company, County Furnishings.

The Art House provides magnificent and flexible facilities for all of us. These range from lecture theatres which can cater for small groups, for discussions, to open events, which attract large numbers and provide working and exhibition space. We have a wide range of studios and work places, allowing students to work creatively, develop new ideas and interact with both their tutors, teachers.

The University of Worcester is transforming the former Austin House car showroom and garage in Castle Street, Worcester, into an Art House, which is expected to open to students early next year.
