This wasn't far ahead of the previous 1.8-litre 318iS, just a slight increase in torque. I just bought a 96' BMW 318i E36. It's current horsepower is stock, at 122, as I'm sure everyone in here knows.
Now, the 318is has around 140 hp. But, it's the same engine. What's done with the is to raise the horsepower level? And is it possible to do so with my 318i? Hi everyone, Pardon my ignorance here, but I value your opinions as you actually own BMW's rather than trying to sell me one.

I am in the process of buying a BMW e36 Series. I have been looking at the 318i, 318is, and 320i. Is there much diffence in torque between all 3 models? I've test.
The logistics for the last E36 production year, got a little wierd, however, and some of the last E36 318i's received the 87 kW, 180 Nm, 1.9 liter engine destined for the E46.
