This time we think we have another world first (correct us if we are wrong), the first Supra Mk4 with a ZF 8 speed gearbox fitted and working in the world! Looking at gearbox alternatives to the increasingly expensive and somewhat non-serviceable OEM 6spd, the V160/161. This is a comparison of known/tested alternatives compared to the gear ratios of the factory 6spd Supra.
Some basics first. This is strictly looking at vehicle speed at a set. The information I have gathered has come from BMW Forums, EAG's YouTube series, as well as analysis of the B58 and various BMW gearboxes both myself and with the help of some industry peeps.

The transmission that appears to be compatible with the Supra's B58 bolt pattern, starter location, and crank is the BMW ZF GS6. Right guys, I have seen people converting their auto Supra's into the 6 speed manual that is found in BMW's M3 e46 Gatreg gearbox. I have seen a for sale add recently on the Facebook (Toyota Supra parts for sale Europe) page, with a Supra with this conversion, I was wondering if anyone on here ha.
