This is all Hyundai has said about the adapter: "Owners of existing and future Hyundai EVs with the current CCS will have access to the Tesla Supercharging Network starting in Q1 2025. Hyundai will offer an adapter to these customers. Hyundai will also make adapters available to charge NACS-equipped vehicles at CCS chargers." [Source].
Sounds like an opportunity to go write down Hyundai VIN's and claim free adapters for re-selling 🙈 From previous sources it sounds like it will need to be associated with the blueish account which verifies ownership. Will existing customers in Canada receive the NACS adapter for free? North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters will be available to Hyundai EV customers during the second half of 2025 in combination with the revamped Hyundai App. Upcoming Hyundai EVs, like the refreshed 2025 IONIQ 5 and future models including the 2026 IONIQ 9, will come equipped with built-in NACS charge ports, eliminating the need for adapters entirely.
However, while this announcement brings good news to U.S. Hyundai owners, Canadian customers are still in the dark. Has anyone got there free NACS adapter for the 2024/2025 Hyundai Electric Cars.
Hyundai said they were going to have a separate website to order it but I can't find it. The recently refreshed 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover is the brand's first EV to come with the Tesla-style charging port-also known as the North American Charging Standard (NACS). Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Kona Electric, and IONIQ hatch owners who bought or leased their vehicle on or before January 31, 2025, can get a free NACS adapter to charge up at Tesla Superchargers.
The off-brands *should* work with destination chargers. Owners of existing and future Hyundai EVs with the current CCS will have access to the Tesla Supercharging Network starting in Q1 2025. Hyundai will offer an adapter to these customers.
Hyundai will also make adapters available to charge NACS. My dealer said the NACS adapter is not included with a new vehicle, and the notice only applies to older (ie pre-1/2025) sold Konas. It's completely counter intuitive that Hyundai would bring in older vehicles without also including new vehicles.
