The 212th Attack Battalion was a famed unit in the Grand Army of the Republic led by Commander Cody and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Part of the 7th Sky Corps of the Third Systems Army,[9] it consisted of both standard infantry and clone paratroopers.[1] A commando group was attached to it during the Battle of Sarrish. The battalion fought on a multitude of worlds throughout the Clone Wars.
At the time of their introduction, the Republic clone troopers represented the future of galactic warfare. Far superior to battle droids, the clone troopers formed the backbone of the Republic's new military that waged war against the forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. So symbolic were they of the times, the galaxy.
