How does the map work?
Our new Rental Market Report collects information on properties listed for rent on Zoopla and combines it with data from our sister company, Hometrack.
The report only accounts for property to rent on the open market, which is available through either private landlords or letting agents.
To create this interactive map, we’ve pulled out these four key data points from the report:
- The average monthly cost of renting a property (1-4 bedrooms).
- Changes in rental costs compared to 12 months ago.
- Rental affordability (measured by the percentage of one person’s gross income spent on monthly rent).
- Average number of days a property is on the rental market.
Our Rental Market Report uses data collected over the last 10 years. Going forward data will be compiled monthly and the report published quarterly.
The map is sliced up into 376 local authorities across Great Britain.
