(Costs based on an average two-bedroom property)
Our workings
How have we worked it out?
We’ve split Greater London into hundreds of locations called Lower Layer Super Output Areas (LSOA), each of which comprises just a few streets.
We’ve then given each LSOA a score based on rental costs – using our home-grown Zoopla data – and transport connectivity, using data we’ve borrowed from PTAL (public transport accessibility level).
PTAL factors in everything from walking distances to stations and bus stops, to frequency of services and average waiting times.
The best scores (denoted by hot, red areas on the map) are for places where rental properties are relatively affordable and transport connections are good.
