In His last and greatest public miracle, Jesus resurrects His friend from the dead. Episode 7 of The Chosen Season 4 finally gives us the moment we've been waiting for: Jesus raising Lazarus up from the dead (John 11). Jesus brings Lazarus back to life-and sets off the chain of events that will lead to His own death. In the future, in Gaul, a much older Matthew travels by foot, with obvious physical difficulty and favoring one leg, to visit Mary Magdalene in a cave. Having completed work on his gospel, he wishes to deliver the first finished.

In this powerful scene from The Chosen, Jesus arrives in Bethany after Lazarus has already died. Martha, heartbroken and confused, expresses her sorrow and disappointment, telling Jesus that if He had been there, her brother would not have died. Despite her grief, she still trusts that God will grant whatever Jesus asks.

Jesus reassures her that Lazarus will rise again, but He clarifies that.
