110 Inch 8 Point Buck
Thats a nice buck! I can see from the score how a bit more mass could easily add 8 of score, regardless of spread and tine length. I can sure see how I could have judged him to be 120 in a hurry, and most of my shots are in a hurry. Congratulations!
He was probably 15" wide a lot of mass and his points on each side were around 10" long. He probably scored like 65" or something but for a 4 point, he was a ground pounder and would have been one more heck of a trophy! Buck knives are known for sharp edges and rugged durability.

Big 8-point bucks are rare. It takes a lot for one to make it over 140 inches. An 8-pointer in the 150s or 160s is a true feat.
But when they grow even bigger, and reach the 170s, 180s, or 190s, its truly something to see. A good score for an 8 point buck is a minimum of 120 inches, which means the antlers must have at least four points on each side. The Boone and Crockett scoring system is commonly used to measure deer racks, with higher scores indicating larger antlers.
One of the highest-scoring bucks ever killed, a deer shot by Wayne Stewart of Minnesota, for example, only had a 15 5/8-inch inside spread. Yet it made it into the top ten with a net score of 201. A 130" 8 is a fantastic deer that many hunters won't have the opportunity to kill in a lifetime. You can't just make a blanket statement that an 8 isn't big until 140". By using the Ear tip-to-tip reference measurement of 13-15 inches, you can quickly gather if a bucks spread is an inch or two inside or wider than his ears.
For bucks that have a spread that far exceeds his ears, simply reference the ear base to tip measurement of 7-8 inches.
