With this third estimate for the first quarter, the general picture of economic growth remains the same; private inventory investment and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) were revised down (see "Updates to GDP" on page 2). The final reading on first-quarter gross domestic product was expected to show an increase of 2.2 percent, in line with the previous estimate.
