When Robert Collins died in 1975, his wife and children took over the business, calling it Frans Place. A bowling alley next door, Kings Lynn Lanes, attracted ladies from a womens bowling league to stop in for drinks. The business has been in owner Jay Collins family since the 1920s, when it opened as a tavern at another location before moving to the current location as Lighthouse Cafe in the 1940s and ultimately Frans Place in the 70s.

The entity is owned by Omar Guerrero, who once managed Omar & Oscar Jewelry of Lynn in Central Square.
