Hamill says that his resistance to Luke melted away when Carrie Fisher took him aside after the show and told him to embrace his Star Wars identity, not run from it. Hamill has been open about being unhappy with Luke Skywalker's backstory in "The Last Jedi," as he wanted it to be much darker. Luke, Han, and Leia could have actually had their long-awaited reunion in Star Wars' sequel trilogy, but not even Mark Hamill could get it to happen.
He also told a story about his kid coming back from a sleepover all bummed out.
