Parents Weekend Citadel 2018

Gen. Glenn M. Walters, USMC, began serving as the 20th President of The Citadel on Oct.

8, 2018. A Presidential Change of Command Ceremony will occur during the Parents Weekend military review parade scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13th on Summerall Field in the center of campus.

Saturday of Ring Weekend is a regular football day, but with open barracks Saturday morning. Most cadets appreciate families bringing breakfast to them in the barracks that morning. Keep a camera handy.

Senior cadets smile more on Ring Weekend than any other time. It all goes by so quickly. Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

We've just created a group for parents with cadets or graduates of The Citadel who are serving/will serve in any branch of the US Military. The group is called Military Parents of The Citadel. I hope you'll join us and spread the word.

Looking ahead to ring weekend, make your hotel or house reservation early. Get cancellation insurance if you rent a house as we learned this past fall with hurricane season anything can happen. The Citadel: Parents of the Class of 2018 has over 20 members so far.

In addition to new parents, the group includes a few parents of graduates who volunteer their time to answer questions about this first year at The Citadel. Relatives and friends will be welcomed to the college campus during The Citadels annual Parents Weekend Friday, Oct. 1 Sunday, Oct.
